廣大鐵路是一條合資鐵路，東起成昆鐵路云南段廣通北站，向西經(jīng)云南省楚雄市、南華縣、姚安縣、祥云縣、彌渡縣至大理市下關(guān)，全長(zhǎng)213公里，其中楚雄州境內(nèi)104公里。廣大鐵路擴(kuò)能改造工程是泛亞鐵路西線和滇藏鐵路的重要組成部分，為國(guó)家Ⅰ級(jí)雙線鐵路，全長(zhǎng)174.45千米，其中橋隧總長(zhǎng)109.88千米，占全線總長(zhǎng)的63%，設(shè)計(jì)時(shí)速200km/h，概算總投資139.36億元。建成后，昆明至楚雄將開行城際列車，行程僅需1小時(shí)，對(duì)于加強(qiáng)滇西地區(qū)路網(wǎng)運(yùn)輸能力，完善泛亞鐵路網(wǎng)意義重大。
The vast railway is a joint venture railway. From the east, the Chengdu-Kunming Railway Guangtong North Railway Station in Yunnan Province begins. From the west, it passes through Chuxiong City, Nanhua County, Yao'an County, Xiangyun County and Midu County in Yunnan Province to Xiaguan County in Dali City. The total length of the railway is 213 kilometers, including 104 kilometers in Chuxiong Prefecture. The vast railway capacity expansion and transformation project is an important part of the Pan-Asian Railway West Line and Yunnan-Tibet Railway. It is a national grade I double-track railway with a total length of 174.45 km. The total length of bridges and tunnels is 109.88 km, accounting for 63% of the total length of the railway. The design speed of the railway is 200 km/h, and the estimated investment is 13.936 billion yuan. After the completion of the project, Kunming-Chuxiong inter-city train will run for only one hour, which is of great significance for strengthening the transportation capacity of the railway network in Western Yunnan and improving the Pan-Asian railway network.
