太興鐵路位于山西省中西部地區(qū)，正線全長164.26公里，投資估算87億元。線路經(jīng)過太原市萬柏林區(qū)和尖草坪區(qū)、陽曲縣、古交市、婁煩縣，嵐縣、興縣抵達(dá)臨縣境內(nèi)。起點(diǎn)為太原北編組站的汾河站，終點(diǎn)為山西中南部鐵路通道的白文站。它是山西境內(nèi)的一條以煤炭運(yùn)輸為主，兼顧貨運(yùn)為輔的區(qū)域性干線鐵路，鐵路等級為國鐵Ⅰ級，單線電氣化鐵路（預(yù)留雙線條件）。
Tai Xing railway is located in the central and western part of Shanxi province. The main line is 164.26 kilometers long and the investment is estimated at 8 billion 700 million yuan. The route passes through Wanbailin District and Jiancao District of Taiyuan City, Yangqu County, Gujiao City, Loufan County, Lanxian County and Xingxian County to Linxian County. The starting point is Fenhe station in the North Marshalling Station of Taiyuan, and the terminal is Bai Wen station in the central and southern railway passage of Shanxi. It is a regional trunk railway in Shanxi Province, mainly transporting coal and supplementing freight transportation. The railway grade is National Railway Grade I, and the single-track electrified railway (double-track conditions are reserved).
